What is Football Grid?

Football Grid is a daily trivia game that tests your deep knowledge of football history and player careers. You’re presented with a 3x3 grid where rows and columns represent different criteria—such as clubs, nationalities, or achievements. Your goal is to fill every cell with a player who matches both the corresponding row and column criteria.

Game Objective

Your mission is to complete the entire grid by correctly identifying 9 players who fit the cross-referenced categories. Each player can only be used once per grid, so strategic choices are key!

How to Play

Step 1: Analyze the Grid

Look at the row and column headers. For example:

  • Row: Real Madrid
  • Column: Brazil represented player

You need to find a player who has played for Real Madrid AND for Arsenal (e.g., Mesut Özil, José Antonio Reyes).

Step 2: Search and Select a Player

Type the name of the player you think fits the criteria. Select them from the dropdown list.

  • If the player is correct, the cell will fill with their image.
  • If the player is incorrect, you simply see an error message and try again.

Step 3: Player matches multiple cells

If the player is correct and fits multiple cells, select the cell where you want to place them.

Rules & Constraints

  1. Played Matches: For a player to qualify for a team, they must have played at least one official match for that club. Bench appearances without playing usually don’t count!
  2. National Team: Players are defined by the national team they are eligible for or have played for.
  3. Unique Selections: You cannot use the same player twice in the same grid.
  4. Timer: Your goal is to complete the grid as fast as possible.

Tips for Success

  1. Trust Your Gut: Don’t overthink too much, speed is key!
  2. Save Versatile Players: If a player fits multiple cells (e.g., played for many big clubs), save them for the hardest intersection.
  3. Check the Era: Make sure the player played for both teams, sometimes players move between rivals!

Winning the Game

You win by successfully filling all 9 cells. The game tracks your:

  • Speed: How fast you completed the grid.
  • Quantity: How many correct answers you had.

Start your daily grid journey and prove you are the ultimate football historian!
